Mark S.'s Story
Life
Life has been an interesting journey, to say the least. Followed an avocation as a living and listened to my heart for everything else...could have been worse! I am currently divorced but did produce two terrific children that I am very proud of! One of each gender...how lucky can you get. Have physically visited the 48 contiguos states and then some. After 60, I plan to visit Europe and Israel for a six month adventure(a dream deferred). Have been fortunate to live many dreams, meet many famous and influential people but three of a handfull of things that make me most proud have to do with our hometown...PASSAIC, NEW JERSEY. I was intrumental in honoring our very own Shirelles in the PHS auditorium (now named for them) on the day before they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, worked with Larry Cirignano to get the...Expand for more
WONDER TEAMS in to the New Jersey State Athletic Hall of Fame and honored three time Oscar winner, Saul Zaentz, with a street corner (Myrlte and Monroe...where else?) and the Zaentz Auditorium at #11 School. Next year we will be naming streets for the Shirelles and Joey Dee and the Starliters...it just doesn't get any better! For the uninitiated, I had the high honor of being Passaic's City Historian for almost 13 years...then came old fashioned Passaic politics? WE grew up in the right place at the right time and that is something that NO ONE shall ever take away from us! As an expatriot from Brooklyn (1956), I am MOST PROUD to call Passaic home most of us are! May we all live long, healthy and productive lives and never forget out hometown or Rutt's Hutt, or the Ding Ho Palace or Tom Saba or... G-dBless each and every one of you!!!
